Serviceable Addressable Market
Also: SAMServiceable Available Market
The portion of the total market you can realistically reach and serve with your current product, model, and geography.
Why it matters
SAM narrows the theoretical total to the buyers your business can actually sell to today, given your product, pricing, and where you operate. It is a more honest planning number than TAM because it strips out the customers you have no path to win.
What good looks like
A good SAM reflects real constraints: the languages you support, the regions you sell in, the segment your product fits, and the deals your motion can close. If your SAM looks almost as large as your TAM, you have probably not been honest about the constraints.
