Core Web Vitals
Also: Web VitalsCWV
Google's metrics for page experience, loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability, that factor into rankings.
Why it matters
Core Web Vitals are Google's specific measures of user experience: how fast a page loads, how quickly it responds, and how stable it is while loading. They are a confirmed (if modest) ranking factor and, more importantly, they affect whether visitors stay. A slow, janky page loses both rankings and conversions.
What good looks like
Google publishes target thresholds for each metric (loading, interactivity, stability); passing them is the bar. The bigger point is that the underlying experience, fast and stable, matters for conversion regardless of the exact scores.
