Schema Markup
Also: Structured DataSchema.org
Code added to a page that helps search engines understand its content and can enable rich results.
Why it matters
Schema markup is structured data that labels what your content means, an article, a product, an FAQ, a review, helping search engines interpret it and sometimes display rich results. It improves how your pages appear in search and helps machines, including AI engines, parse your content. It is increasingly relevant as search becomes answer-driven.
What good looks like
Implemented correctly, schema can earn rich results (stars, FAQs, prices) and clearer machine understanding. The benefit is real but bounded, schema helps presentation and comprehension, it is not a direct ranking lever on its own.
